Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand talks weight struggles, sexism in new book

GLENN BLAIN

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has taken abuse from her colleagues in Congress about her weight - but New York's junior senator can give as good as she gets.

A male colleague once said to Gillibrand when he saw her in the congressional gym: "Good thing you're working out, because you wouldn't want to get porky!"

Gillibrand’s response "Thanks, a--hole,” according to an excerpt from her new book, "Off the Sidelines," published in People magazine this week.
