Judge approves Central Park Five settlement

After a Manhattan judge today formally approved the city’s $41 million settlement with five men wrongfully sentenced to prison for the rape of a Central Park jogger 25 years ago, the city’s top lawyer said the settlement was not a reflection on the law enforcement officials who worked on the case.

It irks me when officials from police to prosecutors focus on getting convictions at all cost even if this includes hidding material from the defense, intimidating witnesses, etc..

At the end of the day innocent people end up in jail or worse and we taxpayers have to pay for it. There needs to be accountability or prosecutors will continue railroading people especially minorities.
