She won the Albany region, parts of thd north country and the Hudson Valley. hrmjustin Sep 2014 #4
Interesting. I tend to think of the North Country as more conservative. Rhiannon12866 Sep 2014 #5
NYC went solidly for Cuomo. hrmjustin Sep 2014 #6
And that probably made the difference. Rhiannon12866 Sep 2014 #7
it did but Hochul helped him in western NY. hrmjustin Sep 2014 #8
Just turned on the local news and apparently Teachout won easily all over the Capital Region. Rhiannon12866 Sep 2014 #9
Which came as a shock to the pundits down here but not to me. hrmjustin Sep 2014 #10
Nor me, especially after reading DU. Rhiannon12866 Sep 2014 #11
Your region surprised me. hrmjustin Sep 2014 #12

Cuomo defeats challenger Teachout in New York primary

However, Teachout won easily in my county:
Teachout, in Warren County, defeated Cuomo, 493-355, with fellow Democrat Randy Credico garnering just 22 votes.

I took it as fact that NYC is the only reason New York is a blue state.

Like the fact the there was SRO when President Clinton came to Warren County to campaign for Kirsten Gillibrand. BTW, she was the guest on The Daily Show tonight.

I'm afraid not. I hoped to catch a ride with my housemate since my car was towed to the dealership this afternoon (long story), but he came home, said he didn't feel good and went to bed. He didn't vote, either, but was planning to vote for Teachout, too.

I really need to do that, just can't stand the thought of Elise Stefanik as my congressperson. I know she'd be worse than Chris Gibson and probably even worse than John Sweeney.

Bill Owens didn't win with that big a margin. Since Stefanik can't seem to say where she's from, my hope is that she'll be viewed as a carpetbagger.

I could tell by the way it was worded, though one of the calls said it right at the end. I had said I wasn't planning to vote for her.
