Mayoral Hopeful Thompson Takes 24-Hour Tour Of Five Boroughs

Mayoral candidate and former City Comptroller Bill Thompson is touring the city for 24 hours straight today.

He started his journey this morning with a stop at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and is planning to end his campaign blitz on Friday morning at a Harlem subway stop.

"I think it just shows that my campaign's moving to the next level. We've been out there for months, moving around the city of New York, each and every neighborhood, each and every borough, but this 24-hour campaigning shows that we're moving to another level," Thompson said.

Thompson previously ran as the Democratic nominee for mayor in 2009, but so far this campaign season he has not been leading in the Democratic polls.
