Cat stuck in Brooklyn storm drain, finally free

Web produced by Jennifer Matarese, Eyewitness News

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Some people in Brooklyn went to great lengths to rescue a cat, stuck in a storm drain for days.

People in the neighborhood were trying to get it out, but had no luck until late Thursday night.

The cat was apparently trapped in a Bay Ridge sewer for at least four days, ever since Anna Kefalonikas first heard its cries.

"Something told me to look there, in the gutter and there it was looking up and crying," Kefalonikas said.

I get so angry with people that allow their pets to run free--it's dangerous and exposes them to all kinds of hazards.

I'm glad those women help to take care of the kitties outside, it's a horrible existence for the little furry babies.

Glad there was a happy ending. I have 5 cats myself.
