Six More Community Groups Join Lawsuit To Keep LICH Open

Opponents of the proposed closing of Brooklyn's Long Island College Hospital got some backup Friday.

Six more community groups have joined Public Advocate and candidate for mayor Bill de Blasio in his lawsuit to keep the hospital open.

The suit claims that administrators violated a temporary restraining order, which mandates that LICH remain operational.

Kate McKenzie, who lives four blocks away from LICH, said her husband suffered a heart attack while waiting to be seen at another hospital.
