City Council To Hold Joint Oversight Hearing On TWC/CBS Dispute

The City Council is stepping in on the battle between Time Warner Cable and CBS.

Time Warner Cable customers who have tried to watch CBS after 5 p.m. Friday, when Time Warner pulled the plug on CBS after failing to reach a deal on carriage fees, have seen the image at right on that channel.

Now, Speaker Christine Quinn says the council will hold a joint oversight hearing Thursday to demand answers from both companies.

The station has also begun running ads asking cable customers to demand that Time Warner Cable bring CBS back.
