De Blasio: Bloomberg’s 911 project a ‘plan gone very wrong’

Sally Goldenberg

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Friday continued the administration's assault on his predecessor's project to overhaul the 911 call system, calling the effort "a plan gone very wrong."

"Too much money was being spent. Results were not good enough. The checks and balances were not good enough," de Blasio said during an unrelated press conference.

Earlier Friday, the city Department of Investigation released a scathing 105-page report that called the decade-long effort to upgrade the emergency system "years behind schedule and hundreds of millions of dollars over its original budget."
