Rep. Velazquez Arrested During Rally To Save Long Island College Hospital

Police say Rep. Nydia Velazquez and members of the State Nurses Association were arrested Monday during a Brooklyn rally to protest the closure of Long Island College Hospital.

The group was engaging in civil disobedience during a rally and march protesting the hospital closure.

"When it comes to health care, location, location, location. Right? You have to have it near you. When it comes to emergency care it has to be near you," said Bill de Blasio, a Democratic candidate for mayor and the city's public advocate.
