City Students' Math And English Scores Dip

NY1News

The latest scores for English and Math standardized tests are showing a drop among city students.

According to the numbers released today, 26 percent of city students scored proficient in reading, and just under 30 percent were proficient in math.

Both are down significantly from past years.

This is the first year students in third through eighth grades were given more difficult tests based on the so-called Common Core curriculum the state is implementing.
