Suspect arraigned in fatal Staten Island hit and run

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The driver accused in a hit and run accident on Staten Island that killed a 4-year-old boy was arraigned Sunday.

Bail was set at $50,00 for 33-year old John Sanjurjo of Staten Island.

Police say he turned himself in and was arrested Saturday on charges of leaving the scene of an accident.

"The damage is done. The baby is dead already. He was just a boy. Even if he's brought to justice and got jail time he's killed this family all ready," said Adam Gendy, the victim's cousin.
