Terror Label Allows NYPD To Monitor City Mosques, Report Finds

Newly uncovered documents are providing increasing detail into the New York City Police Department's surveillance of the city's Muslim community.

The Associated Press says documents reveal the NYPD opened at least a dozen "Terrorism Enterprise Investigations", or TEIs, inside city mosques.

The AP says the designation means anyone who attends services at the mosques can be subject to investigation and surveillance by police.

It also means sermons can be recorded without any evidence of actual wrongdoing.
