County Executive Chris Moss (R) Announces Re-Election for Third Term
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) — Chemung County Executive Christopher Moss has formally announced his plans to seek another term.
Moss is currently in his second term as county executive, having been elected in 2018. He says over his time in office, he has worked to keep taxes down, increase government transparency, and established term limits for the office of county executive and legislature, among other accomplishments.
Moss faces a primary challenge from republican Mark Margeson, who announced his candidacy last week at a campaign event in Horseheads. Margeson is the chairman of the Chemung County Legislature, and Industrial Development Agency.
Prior to his election to County Executive, Moss served as Chemung County Sheriff from 2006 to 2018.
