As far as I know, Tom Suozzi here still does not have a primary challenger in his district (NY-3 on Long Island).
The filing deadline is April 6 for the primary on June 23, and if there's a remotely progressive town council member or PTA president in that district, this is the time to make a move.

(7,450 posts)It's mostly Nassau County but does run over into some fairly conservative areas of Queens. In NY, people use "Long Island" to refer to Nassau and Suffolk counties, even though Queens and Brooklyn are technically on the island called 'Long Island." (So, just objecting to Kruse saying "NY-3 on Long Island" - it is mostly on Long Island, but also covers some areas of NYC).
Suozzi is not going to get a primary challenger there. Unfortunately, it's a pretty conservative district (they elected George Santos), so Suozzi's probably the best hope of holding the seat, which is why he voted the way he did. His vote was still fucked up and wrong, but he's going to be the Dem candidate in NY-3. Do with that what you will.

(24,855 posts)He had to give it up for his (second) losing campaign to unseat a Democratic governor. I lived in that district for 25 years and used to know him a bit as our sons were in Scouting when I was the leader. Tom was a reasonable and friendly guy and one night over a campfire I asked him what his long term goal was. Unsurprisingly, he said President.
I think hes lost his way a bit but that district has lots of Republicans in it.
