Officials: State's New Health Insurance Marketplace Has Signed Up More Than 40,000

NY1News

It's been open for a little more than a week, but the state's new health insurance marketplace has already signed up tens of thousands of New Yorkers.

New York State of Health says more than 40,000 people already completed the full application process and were found eligible for low-cost health insurance.

The exchange launched on October 1 and marked the beginning of a six-month enrollment period offering individuals and small businesses access to the health plans.
