Weekend 7 Train Suspensions Begin Again This Friday

Riders on the 7 train need to once again find a different way to move between Manhattan and Queens as the latest round of weekend shutdowns begin Friday on the line. NY1's Jose Martinez filed the following report.

The next stop on this train is not in Manhattan - at least not for five weekends this fall.

"The 7 is like the main pipeline to this city from this area, so if it's down, that means I'm not going anywhere," said one rider.

Starting Friday at 11:45 p.m., the 7 train won't run the next four weekends between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square and again from November 22nd to the 25th. The MTA is resuming installation of a new signaling system designed to make the line more reliable.
