Queens hit and run leaves pedestrian dead

WOODHAVEN (WABC) -- Police are trying to track down the hit and run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Queens early Saturday morning.

It happened at about 3:15 a.m. at Jamaica Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard in the Woodhaven section.

A 35-year old man was hit by a vehicle while tryiing to cross Woodhaven Boulevard beneath the elevated subway tracks. He suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital.

Police say the driver fled the scene. They are searching for the car involved, possibly a white Honda sedan.
