De Blasio names 2 women to top administration jobs

AP

NEW YORK -- New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has appointed a Goldman Sachs executive as the deputy mayor of housing and economic development.

De Blasio announced his choice of Alicia Glen on Monday. Glen is currently head of the Urban Investment Group at the investment banking company.

She served as the assistant commissioner for housing finance at the New York City Department of Housing, Preservation and Development from 1998 to 2002.

De Blasio says Glen will lead the administration's efforts to invest in emerging industries, build affordable housing and promote employment.
