Gov. Cuomo, who was criticized for not speaking out about last week's East Harlem explosion, pledged Wednesday to visit the blast site.
I will visit the site, Cuomo told reporters after an event in Rockland County.
Cuomos pledge comes after City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, whose district is in the heart of East Harlem, took a swipe at him Saturday for staying silent about the tragedy.
Tax 500k + earners=outrageous, hedge fund backed charters=enthusiastic support, raise min wage=not on my watch, #EastHarlemExplosion=SILENCE Mark-Viverito tweeted to her more than 8,000 followers.

We have been working very hard with the city administration, he said. We had people there literally within hours.
He still has time to say a few words for the people who died in the East Harlem Explosion.
