By: Erin Clarke
Most of the residents of the apartment buildings at 75 Cabrini Boulevard and 81 Cabrini Boulevard in Washington Heights are back in their homes after a wall collapse early Saturday morning. NY1's Erin Clarke filed the following report.
A mess was created when a wall at 67 Pinehurst Ave came crashing into the back of 75 Cabrini Boulevard at around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, forcing residents of both 75 Cabrini Boulevard and 81 Cabrini Boulevard to evacuate.
"It sounded like the Armageddon," said John Buis, a resident of one of the evacuated buildings. "It was, the whole thing was coming down. It sounded like glass breaking. Called 911 right away. It was just, it was a mess."
"When you are sleeping and you hear a sound like that, what are you going to think?" said Rhadamez Ramirez, a resident of one of the evacuated buildings.
