DA David (R) won't seek re-election; filing starts Monday

Filing for political office starts Monday, Dec. 1, but longtime District Attorney Jon David has announced he will not seek re-election.

David will serve out his term that ends in November 2026. In a Tuesday press release, David also endorses his First Assistant District Attorney Jenna Earley for the job as chief prosecutor for the 15th Judicial District, which includes Brunswick, Columbus and Bladen counties.

Earley has previously led both the Brunswick and Columbus county offices.

“I have absolute confidence that she is ready to take on the responsibilities of District Attorney and excel,” said David.
