On Monday evening, community members showed up in force, demanding answers at the Neighborhood Outreach Meeting, which was hosted by the developer’s project management firm, Montrose LLC.

Amber Rojas says she spent days handing out at least 50 copies of flyers, educating and mobilizing the community.

“There is a very big economical and environmental impact to data centers, and we are not opposed to technology, but the biggest concern is where you are placing it,” Rojas said.

She also started a pen-and-paper petition.

“Especially for those who cannot make the meetings because they are … at work during the times the meetings are going to be held,” Rojas said. *

*Beware of this tactic of scheduling important community input meetings during work hours exclusively when the average engaged citizen is unable to attend.

It has become an ever increasing occurrence used to quiet dissent and discourage community engagement.

It's by design and is an underhanded abomination often used by Republicans in concert with their donors who are willing to buy candidates and get favorable business outcomes.

Demand access to these meetings. Remind them that they work for you.
