Pitt County Board of Elections member calls for elections director to resign

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Pitt County Board of Elections member is calling on the board’s new executive director to resign, citing concerns about the lawful management of elections in the county.

Board member Etsil Mason called for new Executive Director Janet Turner to resign during a meeting that was set to discuss the county’s early voting plan ahead of November’s election.

Turner replaced former elections director Dave Davis, who retired in January after more than 20 years with Pitt County elections.

Mason in a statement, raised concerns over complaints made regarding Turner’s behavior toward poll workers and judges at polling sites.
