D. R. Horton Homes in NC.

Nclib posted in my other fracking thread that D.R Horton a Homebuilder out of Dallas TX doing business here in NC is retaining the mineral rights for the homes it sells here. Here's that story again for convenience:

I did a little preliminary research and here is a map of their available homes for sale now here in the Triangle:

edit: Homes for sale in Greensboro, Winston-Salem area:

IOW, if you buy a house, you won't own what's underneath it, any more than you own the sky above it.

They have so many lawsuits against them for poor construction, shoddy workmanship and lots of other problems, I'd run like hell from them. And if you're not going to own what's under the property you buy, I'd run like hell even faster - it ain't worth having a horizontal drilling operation under your land.

Suspended the firm's license in 2008, stayed while on two years probation.

I have to suspect that the Horton sales agents failed to disclose material facts related to these transactions.

All the other people with licenses (real estate agents and brokers, particularly those who are Realtors) will be certain to fully disclose this situation to their buyers.

I expect this will get very interesting in the coming months.

One of the areas in Durham is Carillon Forest which is close to me. And in a pretty populated area. I don't see how they could drill there.

Looking at the maps you provided supernova, D.R. Horton built a lot of properties in this area.

You know, we didn't have to worry about this before the republicans took over this state.
