As I’m sure you know, Republican extremists in the State Senate pushed through anti-choice legislation that, if enacted into law, would put North Carolina on the path toward Texas-styled conservatism. Our rights are under attack at every level in a move that’s unparalleled in our state government.
And while these extremists try to erase years of progress, Democrats have been standing tall in our legislature. But now it’s time for We the People to act!
We’re asking Democrats from across the state to assemble at our State Party headquarters at 220 Hillsborough Street, in downtown Raleigh at 4:30 pm on Monday, July 8th. From there, we will be walking down to the General Assembly in support of our Democratic House members as they fight to bring sanity back to Jones Street.
We’re asking those that join us to wear pink as a display of our solidarity and our commitment to women's rights. Let’s show Republicans we won’t be silenced and that we won’t forget their assault on our freedoms in November 2014!
