Information on Charlotte Moral Monday and Action NC protests

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Action NC kicked off its '40 Days of Prayer and Action' Wednesday evening at the Government Center.
The group will be staging acts of civil disobedience and protests to demand immigration reform over the next 40 days, while United States lawmakers are on break.
"This is our chance," said Hector Vaca, of Action NC," they are back home. They are here. We can have close conversations with them about what is important and that is immigration reform."
The Action NC initiative isn't the only one coming to Charlotte this summer.
The headline grabbing Moral Mondays protests are moving to the Queen City starting next month.
NBC Charlotte has learned the first Charlotte Moral Monday will be August 19, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in Marshall Park.
