WRAL: Election changes coming in 2014, 2016 (Original Post) WorseBeforeBetter Aug 2013 OP
WRAL is pure wingnuttery. They're probably partying over this one. n/t Triana Aug 2013 #1

the tabloid-ish design. I don't like the local news either, but isn't David Crabtree supposed to be a good guy? Not sure if I'd say "one of us," but I thought he was OK.

Lawsuits have already been filed.

...it refers to "liberal" and "liberal-based" or "liberal groups" or "left-leaning" and is often derogatory in reference. It just seems like N & O is more reasonable though neither of them are hardly balanced.

He's won many awards on his reports on the water pollution in our rivers.

He fools you cause he is very low key (southern gentleman type) and retains that bit of neutrality that a newscaster is suppose to retain. I did hear him bragging on FDR last week, and all that he accomplished. He worked that in after they showed a rare clip of FDR in his wheelchair.

The owner of WRAL started getting really ticked off at the Republicans after they interfered with Raleigh and its plans to turn Dorothea Dix into a kind of Central Park. He even testified and addressed the Repub. legislators rather sarcastically.

I know of some of this, simply because I live in the Raleigh/Cary area, and have friends and relatives here who seem to be very well informed on such matters.

I watched Kim Genardo a few times on ABC (or NBC, forget which) and it was clear where she stood. That she ended up in the McCrory admin comes as no surprise whatsoever. I guess I rate my TV news anchors on an "offensive" scale, which is pretty sad. Leslie always seemed OK, and I think it's his sister (?), Laura, who covers state politics for WRAL and seems fair. I just don't watch much local news since there's way too much fluff and giggling over cute cat videos.

I do remember that about Goodmon and Dix, but had to jog my memory re: the details:

Dix bill debate angers Apodaca

I took this at a MM protest and it's so much clearer now, ha:
