Well I usually don't buy the Indy endorsements whole hog, but very surprised by this.

I haven't checked in with him but I assume people aren't very happy with the new leadership.

I thought their cute little aside about the "super delegate putting her thumb on the scale" was really offensive and tone-deaf. So political intimidation is now funny at the Independent?

6. OK I see, "woman president"

is the number one reason for the Indy endorsement. On all the other positive descriptors in this article I could plug in "Sanders."

She will "move the needle ever so slightly in the right direction"....wow what a statement! Ever so slightly as to be imperceptible.

I have come to the conclusion myself that as much as I would like to see a woman president--that cannot be the main factor at this critical time. We need real change. I strongly disagree with her candidacy for many reasons, not the least of which is that I don't believe she can beat Trump. She has too much baggage and will bring out the R vote in full force.

7. Editorial staff favored Sanders

Sanders 3-2, counting one leaning Sanders. Made me wonder who actually made the decision, particularly putting that foll page picture of Clinton on the front cover. Strange.

The Indy is not what it used to be, in coverage of issues or of the arts.

--still trying to understand how this could have happened. At the very least I think they could have split the picture in half with Sanders--and called it an editorial tie. 50-50

Would like to know what went on in that decision. The Indy has big influence around here re election endorsements. No, it's certainly NOT what it used to be.

but it seems reactionary given the Indy's strong liberal track record, and the local milieu. There is new editorial leadership apparently. I think it's reflective of that change.

11. My husband and I both IGNORED The Indy's endorsement and voted Bernie today

in the first day of early voting for the primary. We will be traveling on March 15th and no way we weren't having our votes count
in this primary.

And I hope the Indy doesn't sway anybody who's undecided at this point --I can't imagine there are many of those. It's more what it says about the Indy -- really obnoxious move at this point in the game.

I don't care if they think it's funny to endorse Trump because they're doing it out of spite. They say the GOP deserves him. Well yeah, but let's take politics seriously for a second and not fucking put his name up front then.

The Indy was such a great liberal source... But if they were smart, they'd just outright ignore giving Trump and fucking headlines. He's got enough headlines.

So again, I don't care if they think they're being cute or funny with that "endorsement". They really shouldn't be joking, considering how seriously fucked up a Trump presidency would be.

this game is deadly serious.

So just make the point that the R party deserves him, Indy, without endorsing him.

Some people just don't get it. These are dangerous times.
