NC could require some low-performing public schools to be turned over to private operators

RALEIGH -- Some low-performing, high-poverty North Carolina public schools could be required to be taken over by the state and turned over to a third party to run, such as a charter school operator.

The N.C. House voted 62-51 on Friday to pass a bill changing how schools are selected for the Innovative School District, a controversial program allowing state takeover of low-performing schools. The bill would require the lowest performing school in the state to be added to the program annually.

The money given to the "profit" people is always "spent" before any "good" will be accomplished. The GOP state government does not require a metric to prove those who are educated have "improved" by those who are in charge. I think the profit people always bank the money without assisting those who they are in charge of helping. Public schools are GREAT it their is money to hire good teachers. The GOP never provides enough money for education because they desire DUMB people not SMART people......
