Chillicothe City Council finalizes special election and approves truck purchase bid
The Chillicothe City Council, during its June 9 meeting, approved several ordinances, including the purchase of a pickup truck and the certification of the Third Ward special run-off election results.
According to the meeting’s draft minutes, the council accepted the lowest responsible bid for one 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 to be used by the Chillicothe Parks and Recreation Department. The vehicle will be purchased from Max Curnow Chevrolet GMC for $46,000.
Manuel “Manny” Morales was declared the winner of the June 3 special election for the Third Ward City Council seat. Council Member Stacey Soper, the other candidate in the race, abstained from the vote. Morales is scheduled to be sworn in at city hall on June noon.
The council also approved airport camping for Experimental Aircraft Association members on Friday night, June 13 only. Campers must sign a hold harmless form. The EAA’s annual fly-in/drive-in pancake breakfast will be held the following day.
