Update: Police have taken a man into custody in connection with the hit-skip that killed Cleveland police officer David Fahey this morning on I-90 near Warren Rd. Law enforcement agencies had surrounded a home in Lorain where a car matching the description had been found.

It's similar to a hit and run, but it looks like bodily injury is also involved. TexasTowelie Jan 2017 #2
This is the first I have heard of it, the words sound less ominous than hit and run. braddy Jan 2017 #3

Here is the definition I found:

In Ohio, leaving the scene of a car accident or failure to stop after an accident (called a “hit skip”) is a serious criminal offense with serious potential penalties. A hit and run in Ohio is usually a first degree misdemeanor, which is the most serious misdemeanor charge.
