The fledgling 2014 race for governor heated up yesterday when the likely Democratic nominee requested an ethics investigation into whether Republican Gov. John Kasich or his privatized economic-development agency broke the law.
Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald asked the Ohio Ethics Commission to determine whether board members of JobsOhio illegally benefited from financial incentives awarded by the private entity, which is underwritten by state liquor profits.
FitzGeralds complaint was spurred by a Dayton Daily News report on Wednesday that six of nine members of the JobsOhio board have ties to companies that received tax credits or other assistance from the state or JobsOhio since Kasich took office in 2011.
The newspaper identified JobsOhio directors who were either employed by, on the board of or stockholders in the benefiting companies. They included such iconic Ohio-based companies as Bob Evans, Procter & Gamble, Sherwin-Williams and Marathon Oil.... MORE

(8,654 posts)for asking the Ohio ethics commission to investigate Jobs Ohio.
The Koch Bros et al, have padded Kasich's re-election coffers to the tune of millions while Fitzzgerald's fund raising is lagging.
Ohio and the nation needs to pay attention to this race!

(72,795 posts)They borrowed $ from wall st / big banks and they have bought all the profits from
liquor sales for the next ??? years and those profits will be worth millions and millions
of $s. So instead of the profits from state liquor sales going into the general fund
they will go into "jobs Ohio" which is now a semi private organization which the
public can not look into.

JobsOhio is certainly working out well for Ohio citizens, huh?
I don't understand why so many Ohioans are so dense about what is going on with Kasich and the super majority Rethuglicans. They are merrily destroying the state and its economy, and folks are somehow okay with this.
