because of the remapping of the districts. I was previously in the 2nd Congressional District. I just looked up the two "Democrats" running in the primary election for US Congresscriter for the 1st congressional district. Looks like I won't be voting for Congresscriter this year. I looked at their political views and if I voted for either of them it would be like voting for a republicon. I don't see any difference between these asshats vs. Chabot who is running for reeletection on the republicon ticket!

And I thought that changing from the 2nd congressional district to the 1st would not make a difference. At least the Democratic Party candidates in the 2nd congressional district held real Democratic Party values and wanted change. The two "Democrats" running are at best Blue Dog Dems but that might be a stretch.

Even if the Dem rep does not cast a single vote on a bill the way you want him to do, he/she will vote for a Democratic speaker of the House. And the Speaker determines which laws will be considered.

We should all have to take more courses in school explaining how Congress works.

politics pretty well. So I know in the state I live in I am not voting for a democratic who sides with abortion and healthcare issues with republicans. Every important issue I looked at my blue dog supported a republican. So why would I vote for someone who doesn't agree with my financial interest? Protests votes in the primary is the only way besides calling your representative and letting them know your feelings. I have a nice phone bill to prove my contacts of congress and senate. I know what my congressman votes for because on check on line or even call to ask before they vote. You are out of line. I refuse to vote for a teabagger or a blue dog.

is going to beat Chabot in the general. The republicans made sure of that when the district was remapped this past year. Unfortunately the republicans will have a stanglehold on this US Congressional seat for a long time.

is going to beat Chabot in the general election because after the redistricting the republicans have total control over the district. As far as the primary goes I will not vote for congresscritter but will vote for the other offices on the ballot. I am also a polling judge in Warren County and the precinct that I vote in is in the same building that I will be working in.

I will probably hold my nose in the general election and vote for the Dem but for all practical purposes my vote won't really count. I suppose I can thank our wonderful legislature and Kasick for the redrawing of the congressional maps. It looks like the 2010 elections in Ohio set the stage for republicans to have a stranglehold on Ohio for a long time.

My district, newly redrawn, is very red, too. I don't even have a person to vote for! No one is on the ballot.

I will vote for my President, and make sure I let people know that there are Democrats here.

but is really frustrating that the Dems can't get a quality candidate in the 1st Congressional District to run against Chabot. On the other had the remapping of the district puts a stranglehold for the republicans for local elections.

I never miss the opportunity to vote and I am a polling judge in Warren County. My main bitch is the lack of quality Democratic Party candidates on the ballot.

So, have you thought about running yourself or getting behind someone else you can support?

The district is so red that your effort would almost certainly not produce a winning candidate, but it might bring some awareness to the voters.

10. The dynamics in the 1st congressional district are such...

that I would want to spend my time and money on things that I can change and change is not going to happen in this congressional district.

The 1st congressional district comprises of western Cincinnati, some of Butler County and a part of Warren County. These people are beyond understanding a different view. Anytime I talk to a conservative in these parts concerning politics I get a blank stare. They are not used to hearing the other side of an issue. Since the map change for the district I would put the split at 75-25 with the republicans in the majority. A lot of the Democrats in this district are blue dog dems and very conservative like their republican counterparts, just like the two Dems running for the US Congressional seat.

As far as Warren County and Mason where I live the last Democrat elected to an office in the county was in 1980 and he was more of a blue dog dem than anything else. In Mason there has never been a Dem elected to any city position. There is one Dem on the Mason School Board but he was appointed after the death of a school board member. I am actually suprised that a Dem was appointed to the school board despite it is a non-partisan position.
