He wants someone to take the blame for whatever they do. If Democrats won't play along, "they're playing politics, folks...typical liberals!", but if they do go along with it, "28 cent gas tax increase, registration fees went up, other things went up...typical tax and spend Democrats emptying your wallets, folks!"
