PA doesn't have non-discrimination for marital status, either. When my company closed down its NY offices, I applied for a job with the PA office. I had twelve letters of recommendation from the sales staff, even though I had only been there for about six months, two of them were from regional sales managers. Those salespeople knew I worked my butt off to get them what they needed to be successful out in the field.
Anyway, one of the actual reasons given in a phone denial was because of my domestic situation. I moved to NY just a year or two earlier to live with my lady, and I was willing to live in PA, and commute the two hours back every weekend to be with her then. I got a "we know how that goes" reason for rejection, and I looked into going after the company based on marital status. But, while NY would have given me a cause of action, PA law didn't give a crap.
I guess it all worked out, I took a part-time job in NJ that became a full-time job in another two years, but it still chaps my hide that they did this, and were allowed to do so.
