Court Kills PA. Limit on Corporate Contributions to Political Committees
Corporations are People, and Money is Free Speech. That is what the federal courts keep telling us.
"A federal judge in Pennsylvania struck down a state campaign finance law restricting the amount corporations and labor unions could donate to expenditure-only political committees. U.S. District Judge William W. Caldwell found Pennsylvania Election Code Section 3253(a) violates the First Amendment by limiting the amount a corporation or labor group can donate to political committees only making independent expenditures."

The courts have been overturning many state laws on corporation political contributions and limits on amounts of contributions, following the US Supreme Court case of Citizens United. Many of those limitations had been in effect for over 100 years, after being promoted by Teddy Roosevelt and other reformers.
The law had been the subject of a preliminary injunction, but now the law has been permanently overturned.
