PA. gave away $7 million in tax revenue for movie work done in California

http://www.philly.com/philly/business/homepage/Airbender_tax_credit_shows_how_far_states_will_go_to_woo_filmmakers.html

Like many states, PA. has a state tax credit program to subsidize the production of movies within PA. One of the main goals is to employ Pennsylvanians in support jobs and to allow local people to develop the technical skills needed to attract future movie-making in PA.

However, PA.'s government just gave away $7 million in PA. state tax benefits (that is actual state tax dollars not deductions) for special effects work that was actually done in California by Californians.

Much of the PA. state tax credit dollars actually go to subsidize the QVC network, which has a studio outside of West Chester. They are able to convince our State Government that some of their infomercial specials are equivalent to a major motion picture.

aka the "1st California." So-called because their first colonel was Oregon senator Edward D. Baker. And if that doesn't make any sense at all, a lot of things in the Civil War didn't make much sense.
