McGinty Gains Support from Philadelphia Elected Officials

Democratic Senate candidate Katie McGinty won a number of endorsements from major Philadelphia elected officials.

“Katie McGinty knows better than any candidate in this race what hardworking Pennsylvanians need and what makes our Commonwealth run,” said Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. “Born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and the first in her family to attend a four-year college, Katie has proven herself a pragmatic, dedicated public servant. As a U.S. Senator, I know Katie will fight for Pennsylvania’s middle class families, children and seniors.”

Along with the support of Mayor Nutter, McGinty has previously received an endorsement from Gov. Tom Wolf, as well as the President of Philadelphia City Council Darrell L. Clarke.

“Katie McGinty has the fight of a Philadelphian, the empathy of a fierce progressive, and the smart pragmatism of a public servant who knows how to get things done for working people and families. I am proud to support Katie as the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania in 2016,” said Clarke.

If she stays strong on that issue, I can be happy voting for her.
