Message from Sen. Casey about drumpf's plan for Medicaid:

A message from U.S. Senator Bob Casey on President Trump's emerging plan for Medicaid.........

U.S. Senator Bob Casey

President Trump’s emerging plan to block grant Medicaid is a blatant broken promise that will adversely impact seniors, children, those with disabilities and those who are low income. This radical approach will also harm rural Pennsylvanians by ending coverage and threatening to shutter rural hospitals. Some of these communities only have one hospital and the cuts that would occur with block granting would cripple those hospitals. In addition to the loss of health care services, block granting Medicaid will cause substantial job loss for middle class families, large numbers of whom work at hospitals. Block granting Medicaid is just a cute phrase for $1 trillion in cuts that will result in less nursing home care for seniors and less health care coverage for the struggling and those with disabilities. As the President moves towards this scheme to strip benefits from seniors and the vulnerable he is also proposing massive tax cuts for millionaires, billionaires and big corporations; let’s end the giveaways to the very rich and use those resources to help our seniors instead of cutting their benefits. #Medicaid

the trickle down on this over the spectrum of services Medicaid covers is going to be devastating to the state. Many don't realize that both the lottery and general fund revenues also supplement Medicaid funded programs.

And it won't be just the rural counties suffering. There are alot of suburban counties where MA covered are vital.

And as an aside, the effect this could potentially have on the implementation of Community Health Choices rollout scheduled now for the beginning of next year will put even more needy consumers at risk.

I recently had surgery, had a toe amputated. My bill from the hospital was $15, if I paid it within the hospital takes 10% off so bill was $13.50. Though it wasn't annotated I believe this was the cost of the cane I requested. I can afford this.

My medications are another story. I have 2 medications that total just under $1000, that is about $100 a vial. I can't afford that.

This is what the repugs want, take away our care and then we will die.

He seems to be fighting for Pennsylvanians, unlike that POS Toomey.

I am doing the Women's March Ten Activities for the first 100 days. It is honestly hard to narrow it down when writing a postcard. I oppose everything drumpf has said and done in the first 5 days! Maybe I will write about ACA... or immigration... or the pipeline ----- so much to choose from.

For 3 years I had no insurance. UPMC has a great free clinic that I got my health care & medications at no cost including the 2 injectables I am currently using

Last year a rep from the YWCA was at the clinic and did the paperwork with me & we found I was eligible for medical assistance.

I chose a UPMC plan & chose the doctor who oversaw the residents who volunteered. I had also met with her & figured the continuity of care would be assured, and it has.

As an aside how I found the clinic was because of Planned Parenthood. I went to PP because of a terrible infection. I found out that the yeast infection was because the sugar in my urine was causing it. PP gave me a list of clinics.

Planned Parenthood saved my life .
