Blythewood candidates focus on accessibility, safety, growth ahead of Nov 4 election

LYTHEWOOD, S.C. — Five candidates running for Blythewood Town Council say they want to improve life for residents, but each has a different approach.

Corey Mitchell says one of his top priorities is accessibility and inclusivity for people with disabilities.

Mitchell said, “I’m running on ADA compliance. As you can see, I'm in a wheelchair. A lot of these businesses you visit, even doctor’s offices, either don’t have the button to open the door for someone in a wheelchair or they don’t have the sidewalks. The voiceless need a voice.”

Patricia Hovis says her focus is putting people first and leading through service.
