(61,698 posts)2. This paragraph:
The news release says the elder Cruz fled an oppressive communist regime, but thats not accurate, said Charles Bittner, a sociology professor at Texas Womans University. Not only did Rafael Cruz fight on the side of Cuban communist revolutionary Fidel Castro (the Communist, who became prime minister in 1959), but he also left Cuba after being imprisoned by the U.S.-supported Fulgencio Batista (the capitalist) regime. There was no communist regime in Cuba until several years after Rafael Cruz fled, Bittner noted.

Nevertheless, I still have evil (if unlikely) thoughts about Tedito and his Canadian birthright citizenship. I like to imagine him running for office up there and the far more sensible Canadian electorate solidly rejecting his bid for elected office.

However, if Rafael Cruz wants to tour the country to make conservatives look bad, whom am I to complain?
