Gohmert: President lied about GOP's goals on government shutdown

U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert charged today that President Barack Obama lied when he said Friday that Republicans' aim is to prevent Americans from getting health care.

“That's a false narrative. He said that we're trying to keep people from getting health care. That's just not true. That is an absolute, blatant lie," Gohmert said. "We're not trying to keep anybody from getting health care. And whether or not they have insurance under an exchange or not does not prevent people from getting health care."

The Tyler Republican was participating in a roundtable discussion on ABC's "This Week" along with U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, a San Antonio Democrat, and usual panelists George Will, Donna Brazile and host George Stephanapolous.

Castro disagreed, telling Gohmert he should accept the fact Obamacare is law.
