Potter County commissioners considering complaint against Judge Arthur Ware
Judge Arthur Ware
Potter County commissioners went into a closed session at 1:18 p.m. today to consider a complaint against County Judge Arthur Ware. County Attorney Scott Brumley and Wares attorney Vince Nowak were also in the session.
Ware, who is not seeking another term and is endorsing former Amarillo Mayor Debra McCartt to fill his seat, terminated his administrative assistant of 20 years Nancy Tanner recently. Tanner said previously she will announce in early September if she will follow through with preliminary plans to run for county judge.
There is no requirement a county judge has to be an attorney.

Ware has been unable to fully communicate verbally since his 2010 stroke, and has not handled mental health cases since. An attorney and former judge hear those cases for Potter County now.
