Titan finishes fracking in Colleyville, for now

“Frankly, I don’t trust the city to enforce anything,” said Phil Thompson, who accuses Colleyville officials of rubber stamping Titan’s requests. Thompson said he doesn’t understand how Colleyville could allow an industrial use like gas drilling while cracking down on residents who put up signs in the neighborhood announcing a City Council vote. He and others put up signs before the crucial vote on the Titan drill site that were quickly removed by city workers.

The meteor that crossed the sky about 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 sent at least one Southlake resident into a panic fearing something happened at the drill site after hours.

Police later confirmed it was a meteor that entered the atmosphere over North Texas and nothing was going on at the drill site, according to the report.

Colleyville’s ordinance limits activity at the drill site to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Complaints of an odor were also reported. Polidore attributed it to a clogged sewer or dead animals in the creek from the recent rain storm.

What a diversion.

Get ready for the royalty payment pipe line carrot!

For now, mineral owners will not receive royalties because the gas can’t be sold without a pipeline connection. Plans for a pipeline fell apart in 2011 when drill sites in Southlake and Keller were rejected. Instead, the seven gas wells will be capped.

Oh and don't you just trust the Texas Railroad Commission and TCEQ (Toxic) to label a spill minor and not warrant reporting. Nothing to see here .. just move along.
A hydraulic hose failed around 2:30 p.m. Feb. 1, causing a “minor hydraulic spill” that had to be cleaned up by an environmental contractor, according to a report from Christopher Polidore, Colleyville’s gas well inspector.

The Texas Railroad Commission was notified but the amount spilled didn’t warrant reporting, according to the report.
