The 2012 convention process has been approved by the SDEC

A summary of the delegate selection process is here: http://www.txdemocrats.org/2012/Summary_of_Proposed_Convention_Process.pdf

The approved rules are here: http://www.txdemocrats.org/2012/TX_Delegate_Selection_Plan_%28Revised%29.pdf

There will be no precinct conventions. Instead, we go straight to the Senatorial and County conventions which will be open to everyone that signs a "loyalty oath". The "loyalty oath" you have to sign will be the equivalent of voting in the Democratic Primary which officially registers you as a Democrat. While this may seem like it'll make the Senatorial and County conventions large and possibly unmanageable, being that Obama has no significant opposition, it'll be nothing like the royal messes that occurred in 2008. It'll boil down to who does and doesn't want to go to the state convention. In our precinct it's usually a "Ok, you're it."
