Days after the Human Rights Campaign endorsed Democrat Wendy Davis for Texas governor, a private HRC event in Dallas reportedly raised about $100,000 for her campaign.
Final reports from last night show that the HRC event surpassed $90,000 and raised $100,000 for Wendys fight to become our next governor, Jeff Strater, a member of HRCs DFW Steering Committee, reported on Facebook. Perhaps the largest LGBT political candidate fundraiser in Dallas history!
It was also a great opportunity to talk one on one with Wendy and her new campaign manager Karin Johanson, Strater said. Karin is amazing addition to the campaign having run the successful campaign of Senator Tammy Baldwin.
Think you can top that, Houston?

(22,270 posts)IF 100,000 individuals in Texas pledge $5 per month = $500,000 per month for the next 10 months would be $5,000,000 of dependable funds to maintain the offices, and manage day to day expenses, leaving the other donations free for big expenses.
It should not be too difficult to scare up $5 a month donations .
