The Dallas Mavericks are unwilling to relocate their games from the American Airlines Center to make way for the 2016 Republican National Convention if they make the playoffs that season, team owner Mark Cuban said on Thursday.
Asked via email if he has committed to moving the games should the team make the playoffs, Cuban said, No and we wont move.

His stance could hurt the citys chances, depending on when the convention is to be held and how much flexibility venues can offer in other cities competing for the GOP gathering.
Dallas leaders have said the American Airlines Center would be the primary convention site. The GOPs target timeframe to hold the event is from June 26 to July 18. That means July 18 is the latest the convention could start.
