UT-Dallas to build $85 million science building

DALLAS (AP) -- The University of Texas at Dallas will next month begin formally planning a new $85 million science building that will be used to expand the school's existing bioscience program, with an emphasis on brain research.

The Dallas Morning News (http://dallasne.ws/xNjwEE ) reports the building was approved last month by the University of Texas Board of Regents.

The project will expand an ongoing partnership in neuroscience studies between UTD and researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

The regents approved spending $72.25 million from the state's Permanent University Fund Bond. The rest will be paid for by the university.

The fact that the Republicans seem to have complete control over the education system in Texas, why bother building a science building?

It's not like Republicans believe in science!

Doesn't matter what the republicans think - science is very important. Even their feeble little brains know that research leads to cures for diseases. And with the focus on brain research it could prove invaluable.
