More than 100 Duncanville High School students suspended Wednesday for dress code violations

More than 100 students at Duncanville High School were suspended Wednesday for dress code violations, school officials said.

Students posted on Twitter about the suspensions. And district spokeswoman Tammy Kuykendall confirmed that between 100 and 150 students were dismissed for violating district dress codes, according to KXAS-TV (Channel 5).

The district gained national attention a decade ago for making similar suspensions. The district suspended more than 700 high school students in a matter of months at the beginning of the 2003 school year.

They waited until three weeks before the end of the school year to enforce the dress code?

in 1998 a girl came to class late after having been sent to the office to change clothes. She wasn't there 5 minutes before she was out of her jeans and changing back into short-short cutoffs - in class!

How could a parent let their child go to school wearing shorts, tank tops and flip flops think it is ok to leave off the uniform code of dress? How many students were refusing to wear their IDs? Destruction of school property can result from a food fight in the cafeteria and it can be a cover for something more sinister. Parents may have to pay for painting and cleaning up the cafeteria, (hallways, flooring, plumbing). So they would like to be able to ground their son/daughter at home for a couple of days.
