Greg Abbott accepts two statewide governor debate forums

GOP nominee for governor Greg Abbott said he’s ready to debate and has accepted two debate forums sponsored by news media. The forums are still waiting on Democratic nominee Wendy Davis.

So far, the two debate dates are for Sept. 19 in McAllen and Oct. 3 in Dallas. Both are Friday nights – not big evenings for TV viewership. But there are those who will want to watch who aren’t at a high school football game.

The first debate is being hosted by The McAllen Monitor, KGBT-TV Action 4 News and KLTM Telemundo 40.

The next debate is sponsored by WFAA-TV (Channel 8)and broadcast by all Gannett stations in Texas.
